The Great Ideas! Grant Program

This innovative program was established in the fall of 1992 to fund creative curriculum related classroom projects which directly enhance learning opportunities for students in Indian River County. These grants are highly competitive and have a built in component which requires measurable outcomes and evaluations. To date, the Great Ideas! Grant Program has infused over $830,000 in innovative educational enhancements in classrooms throughout Indian River County. During the 20010/2011 school year nearly  $30,000 was awarded to Indian River County classrooms and teachers.

The Great Ideas! Grants are funded by the John's Island Foundation, Syngenta Crop Protection, Inc., The Clint S. Malone Memorial Foundation, PNC/Harbor Federal Foundation,  Liberty Medical Supply, the Bank of America Foundation, the Jeffrey and Jennifer Pegler Fund to Benefit Teachers, the Florida State Legislature and private individual donations.

The Education Foundation raises the grant dollars on a yearly basis.   All grant opportunities will be based on secured funding at that time.

Quick Response Grants are presently available for classroom projects up to $500 for public, charter and private K-12 Indian River County schools:
