The Education Foundation of Indian River County's mission is to enrich and enhance educational opportunities. We work closely with educational leaders to identify and prioritize projects align with these efforts.
Through the generousity of community partners such as Impact 100, Bank of America, The Community Foundation, The John's Community Service League, The John's Island Foundation, United Way of Vero Beach, Motorola, AT&T, Toyota of Vero Beach, School District Education Foundation Matching Grant Program (from the Florida Legislature), Indian River Lawyers Auxiliary and a Business Partnership with Piper Aircraft, we have been able to help the Indian River School District achieve BIG Dreams.
We are continuing to work closely with the District to support the following major projects:
"Achieving Our Green Dreams - Planting the Seeds for the Future" Working with Vero Beach Elementary School to provide self sustaining education for their students with a Nutrition Kitchen and Community Garden.
"Model Classroom at Dodgertown Elementary School" Creating the first model 4 year old pre-kindergarten classroom (VPK) for the school district.
"Enhanced Digital Learning System" Allowing students and teachers to access instructional material from mobile devices.
"Career Academies" Supporting non traditional classrooms to enhance learning at the high school level.
"Osceola Magnet School - Smart Science" Smart Science curriculum through real world applications.
"Elephant Learning Box Project" The Elephant Learning Box introduces Grade 5 students to the wonderful world of elephants and to the care provided them at the National Elephant Center in Fellsmere, Florida.
"Ready Set Grow! VPK Summer Extension Program" Designed to increase readiness rate of at risk four year olds who need the benefit of high quality instruction.
"Algebra Counts 2" Algebra Counts 2 seeks to change the way middle and high school teachers deliver Algebra 1 content instruction in classrooms of the School District of Indian River County.
